The Reserve Bank of India has released the notification of RBI-Grade B 2018. The application process begins today and will end on July 23, 2018. In this article let us look at some important points like Eligibility, Pattern, Application Process etc .
I. Nationality: a candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
(a) A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st of July, 2018 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1988 and not later than 1st July, 1997. For candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification, the upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively.
The following minimum educational qualifications are prescribed for the post of Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General)
SCHEME OF SELECTION AND SYLLABUS FOR OFFICERS IN GR B (DR)-GENERAL- 2018:
Selection will be through ONLINE Examinations and interview. Examinations will be held in two phases as described in following paragraphs.
(I) Phase-I online Examination (Objective Type): This will comprise a single Paper for 200

i. General Awareness
ii. English Language
iii. Quantitative Aptitude and;
A composite time of 120 minutes will be given for answering. Candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as in aggregate. Candidates, who secure minimum marks separately for each Test, as prescribed, will be shortlisted for Phase-II of the examination based on the aggregate marks obtained in Phase-I.
Phase-II online Examination: The Phase-II online Examination will be conducted on September 7, 2018. Phase–II
online examination will consist of three papers as under:
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on an aggregate of marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III). The minimum aggregate cut off marks for being shortlisted for Interview will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies. Roll No. of the candidates shortlisted for interview will be published on RBI
website at the appropriate time and interview call letters will be sent on registered email ID. The interview will be of 50 marks. A candidate may opt for interview either in Hindi or English. Final Selection will be through merit list which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase-II examination and interview.
