IBPS yesterday released the notification of RRB-VII. Amid uncertainty surrounding IBPS exams, it’s a good news for banking exam aspirants and another opportunity to have a secured job in banking sector.

Q.1 When will the registration process of the RRB-VII begin?
Answer: The registration process for RRB-VII will be from June 08, 2018 to July 02, 2018.

Q.2. For what all posts IBPS will conduct the RRB-VII exam?
Answer: IBPS will conduct RRB-VII examination for recruitment of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant (Multipurpose).
Q. 3. Can I apply for both Office Assistant and Officer Scale posts?
Answer: A candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post officer. However, a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III.
Q.4 What is the Application fee?
Answer: Officer (Scale I, II & III)
– Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
– Rs. 600/- for all others
Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
-Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates.
– Rs. 600/- for all others
Q. 5. How many vacancies are there this year?
Answer: Total Vacancies (Office Assistant+ Officer Scale 1): 8561
Office Assistant: 5249
Officer Scale: 3312

Q. 6. What is the educational qualification required for both Office Assistant and Officer Scale 1?
Answer: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent. There is no percentage requirement.
Q. 7. Can I apply from a state other than my home state?
Answer: Yes, a candidate can apply from any state he/she wants, however, upon selection he/she will be posted in the RRB’s that particular state only.
For eg: A candidate from Madhya Pradesh can apply from Uttar Pradesh, however upon selection he will be posted in RRBs located in UP only.
Q. 8 Is there any local language requirement as well?
Answer: Yes, candidates need to know the local language as prescribed by the respective RRB of a state. So, candidates are advised to take a well-deliberated call.
Candidates who have already studied the language of the State in standard VIII or any level above standard VIII in Government recognized Boards of Education/ school would be considered proficient in that local language.
If not he will be given a time of six months from the date of joining to acquire the proficiency.
Q. 9 Is there any new change in the paper pattern of IBPS -RRB VII?
Answer: Unlike SBI PO and Clerk there is no change in the pattern of RRB exams i.e. the pattern is same as that of last year.
Q. 10 What is the pattern of Prelims and Mains exams?
Answer: Exam pattern for Officer Scale I and office assistant is same.

Q. 11 Is the exam online or offline?
Answer: The exam will be conducted online i.e. Computer based in both the prelims and Mains stage.
Q. 12 Is there any negative marking in the prelims and Mains stage?
Answer: Yes, one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that particular question will be deducted as penalty.
Q. 13 What is the final selection criteria for Officer Scale I and Office Assistant?
Answer: For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination to be considered to be shortlisted for provisional allotment.
For Officers Scale I – Candidates will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination to be considered to be shortlisted for interview.
Candidates in each category not exceeding three times of the declared vacancies in each state shall be called for the interview. Final merit will be based on the performance of both Mains and Interview.
