The average daily income of X, Y and Z’s is Rs. 100. If Y earns Rs. 20 more than Z and X earns Rs. 20 less than what Z’s earns, what is the daily income of X?

Correct

Let Z’s income be Rs. x

Then, Y’s income = Rs. (x + 20) and X’s income = Rs. (x – 20)

Therefore, (x – 20) + (x + 20) + x = 3 × 100

Or, 3x = 300

Therefore, x = 100

So, X’s daily income = x – 20 = 100 – 20 = Rs. 80

Hence, option 1.

Incorrect

Let Z’s income be Rs. x

Then, Y’s income = Rs. (x + 20) and X’s income = Rs. (x – 20)

Therefore, (x – 20) + (x + 20) + x = 3 × 100

Or, 3x = 300

Therefore, x = 100

So, X’s daily income = x – 20 = 100 – 20 = Rs. 80

Hence, option 1.
